December 2 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am
E3G would like to invite you to the in-person event “From the Ground Up: Joining forces to finance the homes we need” on financing buildings decarbonisation taking place next Tuesday 2 December.
Addressing the European housing crisis is a critical challenge facing policymakers across Europe. The European Commission has established a European Housing Advisory Board and European Housing task force to support the delivery of homes that are both affordable and sustainable. Given the urgency of this pan-European challenge, some have questioned whether affordability and sustainability can actually be reconciled.
In the face of this challenge, European stakeholders are showing what is possible. From local government leaders to national development banks and from real estate developers to social housing providers – they are showing from the ground up what can be done to deliver the homes we need.
This event will spotlight innovative initiatives in Europe that enable the financing and delivery of affordable and sustainable housing. Our aim is that this dialogue will help bridge the gap between EU policymaking and on-the-ground implementation.
Speakers will include:
- Eamon Ryan, Chair of the European Housing Advisory Board
- Rasmus Juul-Nyholm, founding partner at Home.Earth
- Keti Tskitishvilli, Managing Director of the European Community Land Trust Network
- Felice Simonelli, Head of EU Policy Monitoring & Advocacy, CDP
This event is part of an E3G series “From the Ground Up”, which aims to elevate best practice examples at EU level through briefings, factsheets and in-person events to build confidence in the feasibility of delivering on Europe’s housing agenda by showcasing the capacity of diverse stakeholders to act.
