EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is the flagship event of the EU sustainable energy community, taking place in Brussels and online between 10 and 12 June 2025.

Coalition at EUSEW 2025

The coalition secretariat will be hosting an online event in partnership with Eurodiaconia on 11 June, 9:30. Titled ‘The cost of keeping warm: affordability in the clean heat transition,’  the event will examine the potential of the Emissions Trading System 2 (ETS2) and Social Climate Fund (SCF) to deliver a just clean heat transition.  Tune in to hear from director Beatriz Yordi Aguirre, who leads on the EU Emissions Trading System in the European Commission’s DG CLIMA, as well as speakers from the frontier of the energy transition in Romania and Slovenia.

Want to hear from those who are shaping an inclusive and sustainable energy transition? Make sure to join ‘Exploring energy efficiency: perspectives from communities and industries,’ featuring our advisory members RAP – the Regulatory Assistance Project on 10 June.  

On 11 June, coalition members Energy Cities and REScoop.eu are taking part in a session on addressing financial barriers in cities’ energy transitions, titled ‘How multilevel collaboration can unlock financing and accelerate clean energy action in cities’. Later that day, members REScoop.eu and CAN Europe will team up for ‘Not (just) for hippies: energy communities can be the drivers of the EU’s re-industrialisation’ – a session that will to outline the role of energy communities in the re-industrialisation of Europe. You can expect to hear about barriers and opportunities energy communities face in initiating large-scale projects.

For those looking to understand how the upcoming Citizens Energy Package can increase consumer participation in the energy transition, BEUC and BPIE are participating in ‘Energy for citizens: understanding what consumers truly need’ on 12 June.

Coalition friends EHPA are hosting a fascinating session on accelerated heat pump deployment called ‘Electrifying heat: how heat pumps fit into the European integrated energy system,’ featuring insights from the European Commission’s Heat Pump Accelerator Platform.   

Our Bring Heat Home partners Efficient Buildings Europe host the unmissable ‘Affordable and sustainable homes for all: systemic changes and financing solutions’ on June 11, 16:30. The session explores affordable housing as a cornerstone of social equity and sustainability in the energy transition, examining critical barriers to make energy retrofits affordable and accessible for all.

Satellite events 

On 11 June, EPEE is organising an event in their Brussels offices on the reuse of waste heat with a focus on data centres and district heating and cooling. Featuring a keynote speech by Renew MEP Brigitte Van Den Bergh, and moderated by coalition vice-chair Richard Lowes, who leads the heat, gas and buildings team at RAP – the Regulatory Assistance Project.
